One of the best things about Ciao Italia is where it is. It is close enough to the parks that you are not driving 30 minutes to get there, but it is far enough from International Drive that you do not feel like you are still in tourist mode. The restaurant sits on a quiet street in a residential area, and the moment you walk in, the noise of the day disappears.
The dining room is softly lit and unhurried. The tables are well-spaced. Nobody is rushing you. After a day of being herded through queues and shouting over crowds, that kind of peace is exactly what you need.
Ciao Italia looks elegant — arched columns, Italian pottery, wine racks. But there's no dress code. Shorts and flip-flops are welcome. Kids are welcome.
