Skip the hotel lobby. Walk down the street for real Italian food.
The restaurants inside and around major hotels near SeaWorld tend to be predictable — hotel restaurants with hotel prices and hotel portions. Ciao Italia is half a mile from Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld on the same street, and it is the opposite of predictable. This is a family restaurant where the pasta dough is made every morning. Where the bolognese simmers for hours. Where the bread comes out of the oven fragrant and warm. It has been here for 35+ years, long before the hotel restaurants came and went. The atmosphere is casual — no dress code, no pretension. Just real Italian food in a warm setting.

Nearby should not mean settling. At Ciao Italia, nearby means you get Spaghetti Pesto e Burrata with basil pesto and fresh burrata cheese. It means Penne alla Vodka con Salmone — penne in vodka cream sauce with fresh salmon. It means Vitello Piccata, veal scaloppini with artichokes, capers, and lemon butter. It means a $13 kids menu where the children get their own entree and gelato while the adults enjoy an Italian wine with their meal. Half a mile from the Renaissance. Same street. Completely different experience. 6149 Westwood Blvd. (407) 354-0770. And if you happen to have a SeaWorld, Aquatica, or Discovery Cove ticket from your trip, show it to your server and save 10% on dinner.
