Discovery Cove does not include dinner. The all-inclusive package covers breakfast, lunch, and snacks during the day, but once the park closes around 5:30 PM, you need to find your own food. Go to Ciao Italia. It is five minutes from Discovery Cove, it opens at 5 PM, there is free parking, and the food is the kind of Italian you tell people about when you get home. The Navarra family has been running this place since 1991. Handmade pasta, fresh seafood, real sauces. Not a chain, not a tourist trap.
If you want something light after a day in the sun, go with the linguine alle vongole or the bruschetta. For a fuller meal, the homemade lasagna and the seafood risotto are both excellent. The red wine braised short rib is rich and satisfying if you want something hearty.
For the table, the charcuterie board is a great way to start while everyone figures out what they want. Finish with tiramisu or gelato. Beer and wine available to round out the evening.
From Discovery Cove on Central Florida Parkway, head toward International Drive and take Westwood Blvd south. We are at 6149 Westwood Blvd. The drive takes about five minutes depending on traffic. Free parking in our private lot, so you do not have to deal with garages or meters after a full park day.
